Liz Darlington - Bachelor of Science in Nursing
I graduated from Cape Fear Community College’s nursing program in May of 2020 with my Associates degree. I am currently working on my Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in neuroscience from UNCW and plan to graduate in August of 2021. While my professional background includes mortgage banking, title insurance, and years as a real estate settlement agent, my heart’s desire has always been to become a nurse. During my studies at UNCW, I was introduced to the field of neurofeedback and am currently completing my neurofeedback certification through BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance). I also have taken three semesters of American Sign Language and have absolutely fallen in love with this beautiful visual language as well as the Deaf community here in Wilmington. I am excited to be working with a group of individuals who share the same ideals of healthcare that I possess, which are: treating the child as a whole, incorporating the family’s values and beliefs into the care plan for the child, and using innovative therapies to help a child achieve their personal best.
Personal fun facts: When I became a mom to my two boys, I thought it was the parent’s job to teach the child. It’s been a fun journey coming to the realization that they teach me more about myself than I ever expected. My favorite things to do include swimming, horseback riding, and I am always looking for ways to improve my signing capabilities utilizing ASL.
